Combining metal and glass, Stile Floreal recall the Art Nouveau period. Hand formed of bronze metal clay and hand polished, the curvey forms of the sunflower are highlighted by a dark patina.
Cindy Gimbrone makes handmade art beads and small sculpture of Italian Effetre glass, American made Bullseye glass and Czech glass. Each bead or scuplture is created by melting the glass in a flame. Using a table mounted torch to melt glass is known as lampwork. Once formed, into beads or small sculpture, the hot glass is placed into a brick kiln where it cools very slowly (kiln annealed). Once cooled, the glass is ready to enjoy as stand alone or wearable art.
Cindy is a teacher and professional sign language interpreter by degree, professions that incorporate her fundamental enjoyment of creating with her hands. From a young age, Cindy created with her hands, through drawing and then sewing to create her own clothes. Alternating between professional use of her hands to artist use of her hands has been the hallmark of her work.
